WOW, what a fantastic week of fishing in Barkley Sound on Vancouver Island , British Columbia , Canada. Inside the Sound has been a little quiet, you have to be patient and try different spots, different depths (50' to 200') and put in the time, or...............You can blast out to 12 Mile and have a fantastic day like the one we showcase in this weeks "Lucky Fishing Report" video. We are finding the Okie Flashers with 4' Coyote spoons working great. Bait works as well but when it attracts too many shakers , we have changed it out for plugs. We are pretty much booked solid for the remainder of the season so if you didn't get out with us this year, ask your self "WHY NOT???" Drop us a line and start planning to come out with us next season. "What are you waiting for?"
It was another awesome week of fishing here in Barkley Sound. Offshore was like a mirror and the bite was on all week. Saturday saw all of our boats bringing limits of halibut and chinook salmon back to the resort for our guests. Both Big Bank and South Bank were producing with the bite coming on strong and then drying up just as fast. Double headers of prime feeding chinook salmon in the 10-20lb range and halibut to 50lbs gave our guests the thrill ,West Coast style!
Fishing continues to be strong out here on the west coast of the Island, Barkley Sound. The last 3 days have seen some of the calmest waters off shore in recent memory. In shore fishing has not been on fire this past week but if you plug away at it there are some great fish to be found. Halibut fishing, however, continues to outstanding.Coyote spoons, hootchies and bait at 120 feet has been very effective. The Wall, Aguilar, Kirby ,Cree and Effingham have all been very productiveAugust is fast approaching as the summer races by. We have some spots left at the lodge but they are filling fast. So if a late summer trip is still in your plans, give us a call and we will do our best to accomodate you. —
